Overview
Mureka is an AI music generator that aims at producers, not just prompt-and-listen casual users. You describe a track - genre, mood, instruments, tempo - or upload a reference song, and Mureka renders a full composition with vocals, harmonies, bass, and drums in MP3, WAV, or MP4. Its pitch is ‘royalty-free, commercially licensed output,’ and unlike many rivals it exposes the building blocks: MIDI export and up-to-12-stem separation on higher tiers let you pull a track apart and finish it in your own DAW.
What separates Mureka in our evaluation is the in-DAW agent, Mureka Co, which runs inside Ableton Live (as of mid-2026) and lets you describe a part in natural language - it generates, splits stems, extends, and imports beat-aligned audio into the session. That agentic loop is something no other major generator offers. It also handles non-English, especially Chinese, vocals unusually well. The honest downsides: generation quality tends to dip after the first few tracks in a session, the Gold credit system is opaque and expires monthly, and a December 2025 US lawsuit (Attack the Sound v. Kunlun) alleges the ‘royalty-free’ marketing rests on unauthorized training data - allegations only, no ruling yet, but worth weighing before a paid release.

Comparison
vs. Suno: Suno is the better finished-song tool - more expressive English vocals and a Warner Music licensing partnership for legitimacy. Mureka is the better production tool, with real MIDI and stems. Pick Suno for a polished track from a prompt; pick Mureka to get raw material into your DAW.
vs. Udio: Udio matches Mureka on vocal realism and polish but lacks stem and MIDI export and the in-DAW agent. Choose Udio for listening-quality songs; choose Mureka when you need editable parts.
vs. Boomy: Boomy is the fast, beginner-friendly release-machine for playlist filler, but offers none of Mureka’s production depth. Use Boomy for bulk ambient tracks; use Mureka when arrangement control matters.
