AI meeting assistant with real-time noise cancellation, bot-free transcription, AI notes, and live accent conversion for calls.

Overview

Krisp is an AI-powered voice productivity app that operates as a virtual audio layer between your microphone, speaker, and any communication app — Zoom, Meet, Teams, softphones, or anything else that uses audio. Its original claim to fame is real-time noise cancellation that strips background noise, echoes, and even other people’s voices from both sides of a call.

On top of that foundation, Krisp has grown into a complete meeting assistant. It records and transcribes calls bot-free (nothing joins your meeting), generates AI summaries and action items, supports in-person meeting notes from your phone, and syncs everything to tools like Notion, Slack, HubSpot, and Salesforce. Its newest differentiator is real-time AI accent conversion, which softens or converts speaker accents on live calls — a feature aimed at global teams and call centers. Developers can also license Krisp’s voice-isolation and turn-detection models via SDK for building voice AI agents.

Comparison

Compared to Otter.ai, Krisp records without sending a bot into meetings and adds noise cancellation that Otter simply does not have, while Otter offers richer team collaboration around transcripts. Compared to Fireflies, Krisp is stronger on live audio quality and privacy, while Fireflies wins on CRM automation depth. And versus Granola, another bot-free note-taker, Krisp covers Windows and adds the whole voice-clarity stack on top.

Getting Started

  • Visit https://krisp.ai and sign up for the free tier if available — test the core workflow before committing to a paid plan.
  • Spend 10–15 minutes exploring the interface and pre-built templates — familiarity with the tool’s layout pays off quickly.
  • Connect or integrate Krisp with your existing tools and workflows where possible — standalone use underestimates its value.

Hands-on Verdict

Krisp is the audio tool I use to kill background noise on calls — it strips echo and chatter from both sides in real time. It’s more noise-focused than a full ElevenLabs voice and a lighter lift than studio gear. For transcription I use Fathom.

Who it’s for: remote workers, podcasters. Tip: enable it on both mic and speaker — Krisp cleans both directions, so turning on only one side leaves the other noisy.

Pros
  • +Best-in-class real-time noise and background-voice cancellation
  • +Bot-free recording works with any meeting app, no bot joining calls
  • +Unlimited transcription and AI notes even on the Core plan
Cons
  • Accent conversion is capped at 1 hr/day on Core, 4 hrs on Advanced
  • Desktop app must stay running as your audio driver, which adds overhead
  • Salesforce integration locked to the Advanced plan

Krisp started as the noise-cancellation app everyone installed during the work-from-home era, and that core tech is still the best around — barking dogs and keyboard clatter simply vanish. The pivot to a full meeting assistant is convincing: because it sits at the audio-driver level, it transcribes and summarizes any call without sending a bot into the meeting, which many clients find less intrusive than Otter or Fireflies bots. The accent conversion feature is impressive for call-center work but daily caps limit heavy use. At $8/mo annual for Core, it is priced below most note-takers while doing more.
